Our Services

Our goal is to change the way society views those who have disabilities. We aim to remove the barriers that obstruct people with a disability and seniors to live a life of normalcy that is productive and fulfilling. Our core services listed below all center around improving the life of those with disabilities.

People Living with Disabilities

We live in a nation where nearly 50 million people have at least one form of disability — that is one in every five Americans. We also recognize that at any moment, any one of us could become part of that number. Mental and physical impairments place strict limitations on lives; accessibility and independence are constantly challenged. Every challenge is as unique as the person facing it.

Imagine learning to adjust to a disability with which you were born. Imagine learning to cope with a disability following an accident or illness. Imagine being the family member who must adjust to having a loved one with a disability.

That’s the reality for:

  • 1 million persons having to function with severe disabilities
  • 2 million persons adjusting to life with a functional limitation
  • Families of over 5 million youth with disabilities

Imagine also how the world treats people with a disability and seniors — sadly, the accessibility or support they need to navigate their daily lives is also limited…and limiting.

That’s where @SLIC steps in! Our goal is to change the way society views people who have disabilities. We aim to remove the barriers that obstruct people with a disability and seniors to live a life of normalcy that is productive and fulfilling. Our core services listed below all center around improving the life of those with disabilities.

Assistance with environmental accessibility adaptations enables a child to function with greater independence in the home or vehicle, as well as provides diapers for children ages three and older. Coordination of family training assists families to better care for their children by helping them understand disabilities. Training must be related to care of the child and prior authorization is required. Crisis support is available if the primary caregiver becomes disabled and cannot provide services. This is approved on short-term basis with prior approval required.
